"This is one of my favorite Chili recipes that I've developed from experimenting with different ideas. It seems to be a fan favorite as well. There are so many great chili recipes out there, and for a chili lover myself, it's really hard to compete. But this chili is right up there with the best of them.   1. In a large, deep skillet, over medium heat, brown your ground chuck. In a seperate small skillet, add the cumin and pepper and keep the frying pan moving over medium heat until cumin turn a dark gold color. (Important to keep the cumin moving so it don't burn). Add this seasoning to the browned ground meat. Add your slices of bacon. You'll smell the aroma of the bacon as it starts to cook. (Wear a bib in case you start to druel). Add the chopped onion, garlic, and chili powder and stir in until mixed thoroughly. Cover and let cook for 10 minutes untouched.
  2. Stir tomato sauce, salsa, and beans. Cover and reduce heat to simmer for 1 - 2 hours.
