  1. Add oil to saucepan and heat on medium heat for 2 minutes.
  2. Add garlic and ginger to pan, and cook for 30 seconds. Do not let it burn.
  3. Add all but cornstarch and 1/4 cup water to the sauce pan, stirring occasionally.
  4. Mix cornstarch and cold water in a cup and dissolve. Add to sauce in pan, stirring consistently.
  5. Simmer for 3 minutes on low heat.
  6. Add water to thin if it is overly thick.
