"This jam reminds me of the apple filling used for danishes and donuts. I believe it pairs well with peanut butter to make great PB&Js."

  1. In a medium bowl, combine white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  2. Bring apples and water to a boil in a large pot. Reduce heat and simmer apples about 5 minutes until apples are soft and begin to break down. Add pectin, increase heat, and bring to a boil. Add sugar mixture and hard boil for 1 minute.
  3. Ladle hot jam into sterile jars, wipe rims with a clean cloth or paper towel, and seal with new lids. Process in a hot water bath for 10 minutes. Store unopened jars in a cool dark place. Refrigerate jam after opening.
