Block Party Fruit Cookies

"This is such a simple recipe but it has become an annual favorite at our neighborhood block party. It's a huge hit wherever I serve it and my friends make me bring it to every get-together! This is a variation of the popular fruit pizza recipe but I use cookies because the portions are smaller, easier for people to handle and faster to prepare."

  1. Mix the cream cheese and sugar until creamy. Refrigerate for about 15 minutes so it's firm for the fruit.
  2. Cut the strawberries into fine peices, until it resembles relish.
  3. Ice each cookie generously with the cream cheese mixture and cover each cookie with the strawberry relish just inside the edge of the cream cheese (this insulates the cookie from the strawberry juice keeping them from getting soggy).
  4. Add the other berries as you desire (have fun with it, be artistic!)
  5. Cut a small pinhead size tip in the corner of a zip lock (preferrably freezer bags because they are thicker or use a pastry bag & tip).
  6. Warm the Dolci Frutta according to directions (if done correctly it shouldn't be too hot), pour into your bag and drizzle chocolate over each cookie.
  7. Refrigerate until ready to serve. (Because the strawberries tend to run, you should make this recipe as close to serving time as possible, 1 hour or less)
