  1. In a soup pot, use a thin layer of vegetable broth to saute the garlic and onion for about 5 minutes, adding more broth as necessary to keep from sticking.
  2. Add the beans with their liquid, tomatoes and jalapenos, chilies, cumin, corn, and rice. Add additional vegetable broth to preferred consistency. Let the soup simmer for about 20-30 minutes to let the flavors combine.
  3. Serve with avocado, cilantro and lime.
