"I was trying to get the "salty" taste without adding a lot of salt, so I had the random thought to add lemon - and WOW. Delicious!"

  1. Chop the broccoli into florets and pieces.
  2. In a pot, boil the broccoli until soft but still crispy and bright green. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large frying pan, melt the margarine, add the lemon juice and garlic. Stir until mixed.
  4. Add the broccoli to the frying pan. Open and drain the can of chickpeas, rinse them in warm water and once drained, add to the frying pan.
  5. Use your spatula to coat the broccoli and chickpeas well in the "sauce." Saute on medium heat until chickpeas and broccoli are starting to brown, and the sauce is evaporated.
  6. Remove from frying pan. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Enjoy!
