  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Grease and flour a 9" springform pan and set aside
  3. Separate yolks from the whites and put the whites aside
  4. In a large mixing bowl mix egg yolks with an electric hand mixer until light and frothy
  5. Add sugar to egg yolks and beat until light and fluffy
  6. Drain excess juice from thawed berries and add them to the egg mixture and beat until light and airy
  7. Mix in dry ingredients until batter is nice and smooth
  8. Beat egg whites in a clean bowl until stiff peaks form but not to dry
  9. Fold in egg whites and blend until whites are incorporated into the batter and the volume has increased
  10. Pour batter into prepared springform pan and bake in oven for 30 minutes
  11. Wait for 10 minutes before removing ring from outside edge of pan carefully with a butter knife loosen edges around the outside to loosen cake.
  12. Allow to cool and then cut into wedges for serving
