  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. In addition, cook meat on high heat on skillet.
  2. As meat is cooked, gradually add onion until the meat is completely cooked.
  3. Stir seasoning and ½ cup water into meat/onion mixture until it thickens. Once thickened, turn off heat.
  4. Crush 1 cup tortilla chips in bowl, then transfer to 8" square glass baking dish. Be sure to spread the chips evenly.
  5. Follow the chips with the refried beans, also spread evenly throughout the dish.
  6. Next, spread the meat mixture on as the next layer.
  7. Finally, sprinkle the cheese on top.
  8. At this point, the oven should be ready. Bake dish at 375°F, uncovered, for approximately 20 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven when done, add your favorite toppings and serve. Yields four decently sized portions.
