Snazzy Macaroni & Cheese Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 400F
  2. Cook macaroni, drain and rinse with cold water
  3. Brown hamburger (approx 5 min) drain fat and set meat aside.
  4. Add olive oil to pan bring pan back up to temperature
  5. Combine onion, garlic and mushrooms to pan. Still frequently to prevent burning, until onion is translucent (about 5-8 minutes)
  6. Remove from heat and add soup and milk, mixing to combine all ingredients.
  7. Bring heat up and stir until just before boiling, and then lower heat to medium.
  8. Add corn starch and continue simmering as it thickens.
  9. After 3 min. add spices.
  10. After 1 additional minute remove from heat and add cooked meat and tomatoes, folding ingredients together to thoroughly combine.
  11. Add cooked macaroni and folder all ingredients together.
  12. Split mixture into two medium sized casserole dishes lightly sprayed with vegetable oil.
  13. Bake uncovered for 40 minutes, keeping an eye so it doesn't burn, but is crusted over.
  14. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
