"This is a rice that we ate at almost every meal as a child. For as long as I can remember this recipe has not changed. Its been passed down for generations."

  1. Heat oil in a 2qt sauce pan on med- med-high, add rice and fry until the rice is light brown.'
  2. Add onion and brown rice for another 30 seconds
  3. Pour in tomato sauce and water and stir.
  4. Add salt, chicken bullion and garlic clove. Stir until salt and bullion dissolve.
  5. Wait for rice to boil and cover with lid, turn heat to low.
  6. DO NOT LIFT THE LID UNTIL ALL THE WATER IS ABSORBED
  7. Set timer for 15 minutes once rice is covered.
  8. Remove from heat and lift the lid. Give rice a quick stir, remove garlic clove and serve
