"Sausage combined with onions and bell peppers make for a hearty pasta sauce. It's also something easy you can whip up on any weeknight! Serve with garlic bread,a side salad and you have a balanced and complete meal! Left over sauce also freezes well for later use!"

  1. Cut partially thawed sausage links into 3/4 inch pieces (when it is partially frozen it is easier to cut and not have the meat all fall out of the casing)
  2. Heat 1 Tbls of oil in a large saucepan over medium high heat and add the sausage. cook until brown on the outside (about 5 to 7 min)
  3. Once the sausage is browned, add another Tbls of oil and add the garlic, onion, and bell pepper. Cook the veggies with the sausage until the veggies are softened (about 5 min)
  4. Once the veggies are softened, add the spaghetti sauce and the diced tomatoes. Stir and cover. Let simmer for 20 min on low heat stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve with cooked penne pasta and grated Parmesan cheese on top
