  1. Lightly saute vegetable in olive oil in a large pot.
  2. Add all spices, stock, and lentils.
  3. Bring to a boil (adding water, if necessary).
  4. Stir in tomato paste.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 30 min.
  6. Serve immediately.
