  1. In large bowl, cream together sugar and shortening until blended. Stir in eggs and vanilla.
  2. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Blend flour mixture, a little at a time, into creamed mixture. Chill 1 hour in refrigerator.
  4. Add jimmies to dough right before baking. carefully mix in by hand but don't over-mix to avoid making cookies tough.
  5. Preheat over to 375 degrees F. Roll dough into 2" sized balls, place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten cookie a bit with palm or bottom of floured glass.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or unitl lightly browned.
