  1. Mix together butter, sugar, egg & vanilla. Sift together flour and salt and add to above ingredients. Roll in 1” balls. Dip in slightly beaten egg yolk. Roll in chopped nuts. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 5 minutes. Remove quickly and press thumb gently on top of each cookie. Return to oven and bake another 8 minutes. Cool. Fill with red jelly or jam.
