Melt 1/4 cup butter in skillet. Add chicken livers, onions, garlic, mushrooms and salt. Cook 5 minutes. Add rest of ingredients and simmer until chicken livers are tender and liquid is almost all absorbed. Cool until warm. Blend in food processor until almost smooth. Blend in rest of butter if desired. add additional salt to taste. pack in a crock and chill at least 8 hrs. Serve with melba toast or crackers.
