Family, friends, and their kids often request that I bring a batch of these along when I visit. They get eaten quite quickly!"

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking oil. In a medium size bowl, cream brown sugar and softened butter together. Add milk, vanilla, and 1 beaten egg if using. Add white chocolate chips and slivered almonds, mix well. In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix well. Add gradually to wet mixture, stirring as you proceed. Mix till flour mixture is incorporated completely. REFRIGERATE DOUGH FOR 1/2 HOUR. Shape by hand to walnut sized balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes for soft cookies. Bake 13 minutes for crispy cookies. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
