"This is a great comfort food for those cold winter days & it's great tasting. This is my own recipe. I like to serve it in big pre-warmed soup bowls with salad & french bread."

  1. 1. Cook bacon in skillet until browned. Remove bacon. Add olive oil to bacon drippings.
  2. 2. Put flour in a plastic bag, add meat & shake until all pieces of meat are coated with flour. Heat drippings & oil on medium high heat, add meat & brown well on all sides.
  3. 3. Add beef stock & wine.Bring to a boil, reduce heat & let meat simmer for 1 hour.
  4. 4. Add potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, garlic, onion, & all seasonings. Simmer until vegetables are done to your liking.
