"Perfect addition to an elegant holiday table. Decidedly different that cranberry-orange relish or the canned jellied cranberry sauce. The addition of spiced brandy enhances both the cranberries and the fall spices."

  1. In a medium saucepan, place cranberries, water, orange juice, orange zest, and brandy. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer 5 minutes.
  2. With a spoon, press cranberries against side of pan until all are broken open. Reduce heat to low. Stir in cinnamon, cloves, allspice, cardamom, and salt. Taste and add extra spices and sugar to your taste. Simmer and additional 1-2 minutes.
  3. Serve warm, at room temperature, or cold.
