Mix the dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients until well blended.
Mix the apples/sugar/cinnamon mixture in separate bowl.
Grease and flour 9 inch tube pan.
Alternate layers of batter and apples (3 layers each). Begin with batter and end with apples. Sprinkle top of apples with brown sugar.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
For the glaze,heat the butter, milk and brown sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar, then remove from the heat. Cool slightly and drizzle over the cake.
