Brown chicken in butter and then set aside. Chop yellow onion and scallions. Sauté both in fat from chicken and butter. Once soft add can of garbanzo beans including juice. Add red pepper, coriander, cinnamon, salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil. Place chicken on top of beans and onions. Add spices a second time on top of chicken. Cover and let cook for 40-45 minutes (or until chicken is fully cooked).
