"A flavorful, sweet and sour cabbage soup. Years ago a local restaurant served a cabbage apple soup that I've been trying to recreate. This is my best attempt, and possibly even better! For vegetarian version, simply omit the bacon."
Add olive oil, onion, garlic and caraway seeds. Cook until onions are translucent. Add apple, bouillon, cider, cabbage, apple cider vinegar and sugar. Cook until cabbage is tender, about 20-30 minutes.
Cut bread into large chunks and place in bottom of bowls.
