  1. Cream butter and sugar, add egg, add cardamom, add dry ingredients. Add raisins and buttermilk. Bake in 2 greased and floured 9x9" square pans, or a 13x9" pan (for a thicker cake) at 350 degrees F for about 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out dry.
