Bacon, Cabbage and Potato Saute

  1. Fill a large pot with water. Bring water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until just tender (check with fork), about 5-10 minutes.
  2. Drain in colander and let the potatoes sit while you prepare the rest of the dish.
  3. In the now empty pot, over Medium-High heat, add the bacon and cook until lightly browned.
  4. Add the onion and sausage. Saute these ingredients until the onion is softened and lightly browned.
  5. Now add the potatoes back to the pot with the other ingredients. Toss and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Finally, add the cabbage and saute until the cabbage is cooked to your desire. (I prefer mine a little crunchy still so I only cooked it for about 5 minutes).
  7. If desired, season with black pepper and/or cajun seasoning.


Very nice and easy one pot meal. When I fixed it it was probably only 4 stars. I think I cooked my cabbage a little too long. I served it with hard rolls and butter. Since I was using bacon and ...
