  1. 1) Trim excess fat from pork (if any)
  2. 2) Combine salt and pepper, rub over roast
  3. 3) Place onion in 5 quart slow cooker, add pork
  4. 4) Combine barbecue sauce and brown sugar in bowl (my mother says she adds water to the empty barbecue sauce bottle and fills it up about 2/3 full. Shake it, and add it to the barbecue sauce/ brown sugar mixture or else it will be too thick and gross.)
  5. 5) Pour the mixture over the meat.
  6. 6) Cover.
  7. 7) Cook on LOW for 8-10 hours.
  8. When done cooking, transfer to a cutting board. Pull pork into coarse shreds using 2 forks.
  9. You can serve it with extra barbecue sauce.
  10. My mom recommends a nice green salad as a side.
  11. And Viola!! You have a delicious meal.
