  1. Place the lentils in a medium saucepan. Add the shallots, garlic, ginger, and bouillon powder. Cover in cold water. Bring to a boil, lower heat a simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Remove from heat and drain excess water.
  3. Mix in cilantro and serve on butter lettuce
