  1. 1. Prepare cakes according to package directions, bake in two 9 in. round pans, one for each batter. Save or discard extra batter. Cool cakes completely.
  2. 2. While the cakes are baking, line a 9 in. round pan with plastic wrap or waxed paper and fill the pan with softened ice cream.
  3. 3. Place the pan in the freezer for at least 3 hours or until hardened.
  4. 4. Once the cakes are cooled and ice cream layer is hardened, assemble cake. Chocolate layer top side down, ice cream layer, & strawberry layer top side up.
  5. 5. Frost cake with whipped topping
  6. 6. Place cake in freezer until time to serve.
