Cut, rinse and drain cabbage. Saute onion in 3/4's of the butter. Mix all ingredients except crackers and pour into a 9"x13" pan, cover with leaves, place in oven. Bake for 50 minutes. Saute cracker crumbs in the other 1/4 butter (if desired). After 50 minutes baking, remove cabbage leaves, pour crackers over the top and cook the remaining 10 minutes until crackers are browned. Add salt and pepper to taste.
