  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) and grease 12 muffin cups.
  2. Mix the dry muffin ingredients, and make a well in the center.
  3. Lightly beat the egg, and whisk in the milk and the butter.
  4. Pour the egg mixture into the dry mixture, and starting at the center, combine. Stir in the maple syrup.
  5. Spoon into muffin cups and bake for 20 minutes.
  6. While the muffins are in the oven, melt the butter for the topping. Combine the sugars and the cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  7. When the muffins are ready, remove the wrappers, and dip each first into the butter, and then into the sugar mixture. Serve warm and enjoy!
