  1. Directions: Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Then mix with the wet ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoon 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.
  2. To make chocolate chip cookie bars, spread dough in ungreased 15x10 jelly roll pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
