  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Line 8 or 9-in square baking dish with raspberries.
  3. Make batter by mixing butter, 1/2 c. sugar, milk, flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla. Pour batter over fruit and spread evenly. Mix remaining sugar and water. Pour over batter. Bake for 1 hr.
  4. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream
