Cut Jicama into ¼” or 3/8” stripes. Make sure you keep them as uniform as possible so they cook evenly. Thinner or thicker pieces may burn or will be undercooked, respectively.
Spray a microwave safe plate with a non-stick cooking spray. It makes it easier to remove the fries when done.
Microwave (1100w) on high 9 to 11 minutes per cup of Jicama or until you see the stripes form on the fries. DO NOT leave unattended. Over cooking the fries may cause them to burn, smoke or catch fire (like microwave popcorn).
Plate will be extremely HOT. Use an oven mitt to remove the plate and set on heat resistant surface.
Fries should slide right off plate. Caution fries will be hot.
