Pre-heat your oven to 350F/180C. Prepare a large cookie sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg and then mix in the maple butter and salt.
Add the flour 1/2 a cup at a time and mix into the wet ingredients. Finally, stir in the baking powder.
Refrigerate the cookie dough for about 30 minutes.
Roll the dough into balls the size of a large walnut and place on the cookie sheet 2in apart. Place in the oven and bake for 12 minutes. Don't worry if they don't look cooked, they continue to cook as they cool.
Leave for 10 minutes to set a little before transferring to a wire rack to cool fully.
