  1. Place first 8 ingredients in the slow cooker. Set to low and cook for 8-10 hours. Do not add your salt until the end of the cooking process, this helps your beans to cook nice and creamy.
  2. When the beans are done add salt and pepper to taste. Remove the bay leaf. Serve over long grain rice. It's that simple!
