  1. 1. Chop mushrooms and finely chop red onion, or use a food processor for convenience.
  2. 2. Sauté red onions until they are soft.
  3. 3. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  4. 4. Form into thick 3/4 pound patties. Making thin patties will result in overcooked, dry burgers.
  5. 5. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes on each side depending on desired temperature.
  6. 6. Adding more ketchup/mustard on top of the burger is strictly FORBIDDEN!
