"I will offer the recipe without meat, but if you like ground beef, ground turkey, or meatballs, all can be added. I make this with homemade turkey meatballs and cook it in the sauce after browning them separately :) This sauce makes everyone say "mmm" promise. Enjoy!"

  1. In a large sauce pan or dutch oven over medium-low heat, saute onion, garlic, green pepper, red pepper, and mushrooms in olive oil until onion is translucent.
  2. Stir in tomatoes, sugar, bay leaf and simmer for 60 minutes on low. Add tomato soup, tomato juice, tomato paste, dried basil, black pepper, grated parm, and simmer another 30 minutes.
  3. MEATBALL OPTION: Once your sauce is cooked and flavours melded, you can add your browned (or raw) meatballs and cook another 30 minutes or until cooked (depends on the size of meatballs).
  4. MEAT SAUCE OPTION: If you're wanting to make this a meat sauce then just add the ground meat first. When the meat is almost done (beginning to brown), start following this recipe as written.

Since it's my recipe, I think it tastes better than anything I've tried! I like to make the meatball option (which I actually now bake the meatballs partially @ 400F for about 10 minutes) then ...
