  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Peel, core, and cut apples into thin slices.
  3. In a medium bowl combine oats, sugar, flour, and spices and mix well.
  4. Cut butter into oat/flour mixture until the butter is distributed throughout the mixture.
  5. Add apples but don't mix yet. Sprinkle apples with lemon juice and vanilla.
  6. Mix until apples are coated with oat/flour mixture.
  7. Pour into a greased 6 inch cake pan, cover with foil, and place in oven.
  8. Cook 25-30 minutes or until desired apple tenderness is reached.
  9. Serve with a small spoonful of vanilla ice cream or vanilla yogurt.
