"We wanted a Chocolate Syrup without corn syrup or (heaven forbid) high-fructose corn syrup. My husband found this recipe. It's easy and tastes much better than the national brands."

  1. Combine cocoa, sugar and salt in a medium saucepan.
  2. Gradually stir in water until mixture is smooth. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly; continue to cook and stir about 3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, add vanilla and pour into a container. Let cool, cover and refrigerate.
  4. Serve over ice cream, desserts or 1-2 Tbsp. in 8 oz milk.
