  1. 1. Preheat oven to 400F degrees.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, add flour and make a well in the center of the flour.
  3. 3. With a fork, gently stir in the soda and cream mixing only until incorporated being careful not to over mix!
  4. 4. Drop 8 large spoonfuls of dough onto a baking stone or parchment lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle with granulated sugar if desired.
  5. 5. Bake for 18-20 minutes. Serve warm with butter, honey or jam.


Add any dried fruit--I like to bake in complimentary dried fruit to the spread I'm serving it with (ie, dried blueberry scones with lemon curd)
