  2. Add ingredients to a blender and run until pepper is fully chopped
  3. Other Instructions
  4. Roast and blacken the pepper either in the oven under the broiler or on a grill. Place in a paper bag until cool. Peel blacked skin off. Cut pepper in half. Discard seeds. Coarsely chop and set aside.
  5. Coarsely chop the onion.
  6. Mince the 3 cloves of garlic.
  7. Add onion to a pot with 3 tbs olive oil, and cook the onions until they start turning brown and caramelizing
  8. Add the garlic and continue cooking for ~2 minutes.
  9. Add the roasted red pepper and Portobello mushrooms and cook for ~2 to 3 minutes more.
  10. Remove from heat and pour into a bowl
  11. Return pot to the burner. Add 1 to 2 tbs olive oil. Brown the tofu.
  12. After the tofu is browned, add the onion mixture, sauce, and the beans. Bring to a simmer.
  13. Serve over rice...
