Creamy Mushroom Beef Patties

"The sauce features mushrooms and sliced onions with a tasty patty. This goes great over rice or noodles, and makes a great meal with a side salad. It's a splendid way to satisfy your appetite."

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, egg, garlic, dry onion soup mix, 1-1/2 T. Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs and black pepper.
  2. Shape into 6 large patties, and refrigerate 2-24 hours to keep patties together when preparing.
  3. Heat 2 T. of oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Brown hamburger patties for 3 minutes each side and transfer to a plate.
  5. Add 4 T. oil to skillet to coat bottom of skillet. Add in sliced onions and mushrooms;
  6. Cook and stir for 15 minutes, or until the onions are softened.
  7. Add in flour and stir for 1 minute.
  8. Add beef broth, 1 T. Worcestershire sauce, and beef bouillon powder. Bring to a simmer while stirring until bubbly and thickened.
  9. Add the browned beef patties back to the skillet and turn to coat in the gravy.
  10. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 45 minutes turning the patties a couple of times during cooking.
