Fruited Rice


"A rice side dish made using Minute rice or uncooked rice. A great fruity tasting rice which would compliment any Oriental dish. This is what I serve with my Sweet and Sour Chicken and my Sweet and Sour Pork Chops."

  1. Determine the amount of water needed to cook the rice.
  2. Replace the water with exactly same amount of fruit juice.
  3. Add raisins and diced fruit to juice.
  4. Add brown sugar and vanilla.
  5. Add spices to juice, if you are using them.
  6. Prepare rice as you would normally using the water instructions, except use the fruit and fruit juice.
  7. You can serve the rice individually or put into serving bowl so all can serve themselves.
  8. ~~~Optional Additions~~~
  9. Coconut.
  10. Sliced almonds.
  11. Toasted pecans or walnuts, or nuts of your choice, chopped.
  12. Currants.
  13. Pineapple tidbits.
  14. Fruit cocktail.
