  1. 1st layer:
  2. Using your favorite brownie recipe or a box of brownie mix make a batch of brownies for an 8 x 8 baking dish.
  3. Spray baking dish with non-stick spray and pour in the brownie batter and spread evenly.
  4. Bake as directed and then refrigerate until completely cooled.
  5. 2nd layer:
  6. Cream cheese must be at room temp. or it will take a very long time to get blended.
  7. Add all the ingredients into a bowl and cream together, using a small mixer, do not over mix.
  8. Spread cream cheese mixture over completely cooled brownie layer, smoothing top and return to refrigerator.
  9. Open your can of cherry pie filling and spread the cherries over top of the cheesecake layer.
  10. If you would like, drizzle a small amount of chocolate syrup over cherries.
  11. Top with whipped cream or Cool Whip and drizzle a tiny amount of syrup over the whipped cream mound.
  12. When plating the brownies, drizzle attractive swirls in the dessert plate and place the brownies in the center of the plate.
  13. Directions: Turning canned fruit into pie filling.
  14. Pour fruit into colander which is sitting in large bowl to catch juices.
  15. Set fruit aside and save the juice.
  16. Mix sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon together well.
  17. Pour reserved juice into heavy sauce pan, Using some of the reserved juice, whisk into cornstarch mixture until smooth then add to remaining juice in sauce pan.
  18. Add butter and heat juice mixture stirring constantly until juice thickens.
  19. Add reserved fruit to juice mixture and cook until fruit is hot and bubbly.
  20. Remove pan from heat and pour fruit into bowl to cool; you may refrigerate if you would like to speed up cooling time.
  21. Your pie fllling is now made and you can procede with dessert.
