"People are always asking for a recipe for Snickerdoodles that does not have cream of tartar. This is a good one from U & I Sugar."

  1. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together, set aside.
  2. Cream butter, add 1 1/2 cups sugar gradually and cream until fluffy.
  3. Add beaten eggs and mix.
  4. Gradually add sifted dry ingredients and mix.
  5. Chill in refrigerator.
  6. Mold dough into small balls, using about 1 tablespoon of dough for each and roll in mixture of remaining sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Place 2" apart on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
