"This is a sweet, nutty charoset with a nice lemon tang. The contrast of textures from the paste, chopped apple and chopped walnut is satisfying. We use this recipe each year at our Passover Seder."

  1. Peel, core and chop the apples. Pulverize 3/4 C walnuts in food processor. Add half of the chopped apples, 1/4 C of sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, apple juice, honey and butter into food processor and mix to a paste. Remove from food processor, set aside. Sprinkle remaining chopped apples with remaining 1/4 C sugar. Add paste to chopped apples and stir. Add final 1/2 chopped walnuts and stir. Sweeten to taste as needed.
