  1. To roast jalapeno peppers put the raw peppers on a baking sheet and put in broiler for about 5 minutes. Take out of oven and turn peppers over. Put back into broiler and broil another 5 minutes. Remove from boiler and cool.
  2. In a blender put in 2 jalapeno peppers, 1 can 15oz. diced tomatoes, garlic, 1/2 cup cilantro, 1/2 cup green onions, water, salt & pepper. Blend until smooth about 1 minute. Check to see if salsa is hot to your likening, if not add another pepper and run through the blender. Check to see if it need more salt and pepper. Pour into a bowl, add remaining cilantro and green onions chopped fine and stir in tomato sauce.


I did not have fresh jalapenos so I used half of a four ounce can of mild diced green chilies and I cut back on the water by half to make up for some of the liquid that came from the canned chil...
