Gloria's Maple Walnut Cake

  1. Sift flour with baking powder and salt, set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy
  3. Add eggs one at a time beating thoroughly after each addition of egg
  4. Mix in, alternately, flour mixture and milk
  5. Add vanilla extract
  6. Add chopped nuts
  7. Bake in a greased 10 inch tube pan for 40 minutes at 350 degrees
  8. Let cool completely. Frost cake and top with 1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts
  9. Frosting
  10. Cream 1/4 cup of butter with 1 tablespoon of milk -
  11. Add 2 1/2 cups of sifted powdered sugar
