  1. Combine the yeast & warm water, to dissolve the yeast.
  2. Stir in the sugar & salt, add flour 1/2 c at a time. Knead dough until soft & elastic, being slightly sticky. Place dough in an oiled bowl, turning it over to coat top. Cover & let rise to doubled in size.
  3. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Punch down dough, divide into 6 equal parts. Roll into 14 inch ropes, and shape into pretzel, putting them on a greased baking sheet. Brush on melted butter, add salt to top, and bake for 15 - 2 minutes.
