  1. In a large bowl combine corn syrup, shortening and salt. Mix well. Add additional ingredients when mixing after each. The mixture will become stiffer with added sugar.
  2. If the mix is too sticky add more confectioners' sugar and more corn starch.
  3. Add your choice of food coloring.
  4. When rolling fondant use corn starch to keep fondant from sticking to dolling area.

i followed the directions tooth and nail. the fondant was very greasy and when i rolled it out cracks were in it and didnt hold up very well, what can i do to improve it
