  1. In a large kettle, brown meat with salt, pepper, sugar and garlic. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, and water. Cover and cook slowly 15-20 minutes. Cook noodles as directed. Chop onions and mix with sour cream and cream cheese.
  2. Grease 2 9x13" pans and make 3 layers in each pan:
  3. a) noodles
  4. b) onion and cheese mixture
  5. c) meat sauce
  6. Sprinkle with parmesan and cheddar cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes if already hot. You can also prepare then pans ahead of time and refrigerate them. In that case, let them come to room temperature after removing from the fridge, then bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
