Start by adding 1 tbsp. of olive oil to a pot. Heat to medium heat. Add all of your veggies and saute until carrots start to become soft. Add all of your seasonings and saute about a minute. Add your beans and saute, next add your tomato sauce and saute more. After a couple minutes, add your rice and water. Bring to a rapid boil and then lower the heat and simmer and cover about 45 minutes until the rice is cooked.
